Hong Kong – March 6, 2019 – Harbour Grand Kowloon’s alfresco Waterfront Bar & Terrace has been transformed into a marine paradise with a new seafood sharing menu to delight diners with the refreshing taste from the ocean. Promoting the concept of “sharing is caring”, the menu showcases over 40 tantalizing big and small shared plates, made only with the freshest ingredients complemented with a range of unique homemade sauces and condiments.

Guests will begin the exciting culinary adventure with a series of alluring chilled and hot appetizers, highlights include Ahi Tuna tartare with fresh mangoes, avocado and crispy tortilla chips, drizzled with a sweet yuzu vinaigrette dressing to bring out a pleasant marriage of flavours and texture; Shrimp & Crab Campechana, which is a popular Mexican shrimp cocktail; the classic Jumbo Crab Cakes with our matching pickle and caper Remoulade sauce; seasonal chef recommended Freshly Shucked Oysters as well as Oyster Kilpatrick baked with bacon and Worcestershire sauce.

Moving on to the main courses, guests must not miss the signature Salmon seared with Matelote and blackberry sauce and the succulent Jumbo Sea Scallops with dry Vermouth beurre blanc and a subtle hint of Pancetta. Meat dishes including grilled Canadian Pork Chop and USDA Beef Rib-eye are also available as an alternative to the other seafood options.

To promote the idea of “sharing is caring”, large shared plates, alongside other appetisers and dishes great for sharing are also introduced to the menu, including the delectable Ahi Tuna Wellington and Lobster Pizza. Couples and larger parties are highly recommended to embrace this social and fun experience as plate sharing is indeed a great and essential part of the local and Asian culture where dishes are shared among guests, and it also evokes lively conversations and interactions between families and friends as they try and comment on the dishes.

Those with a sweet tooth may savour an array of inventive and colourful desserts, such as the irresistible Red Wine Ganache and Raspberry with Cream Cheese Icing, appealing Pineapple Carpaccio with Homemade Coconut Ice Cream and Warm Bread Pudding and Rum Raisins Served with Crème Anglaise as a perfect final note to the memorable meal.

“Inspired by the harbourside environment of the restaurant, we have created a variety of seafood delicacies prepared with the simplest methods. Our aim is to capture the purest natural taste of the ingredients and enhance their flavour with our special sauces and condiments, blending simplicity with ‘gourmandise’, the pleasure of dining,” says Executive Chef Alexandre Buytaert.

Peter Pottinga, General Manager of the hotel comments, “We are proud to be moving forward from a casual restaurant and bar to a seaside dining destination where guests enjoy spectacular harbourviews as well as the best premium seafood dishes. We look forward to creating more unique culinary experiences for our guests.”

The new seafood sharing menu is available from March 4, 2019 (Monday). Waterfront Bar & Terrace’s opening hours is 12:00 - 01:00 from Sunday to Thursday and 12:00 - 02:00 on Friday, Saturdays and public holidays’ eve.
