Hong Kong – March 21, 2016Marking the 8th consecutive year for participation, Harbour Grand Kowloon will again proudly support Earth Hour this year on Saturday, March 25, 2017 during 8:30pm – 9:30pm by switching off non-essential lighting for an hour to save energy.

Founded by the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF), Earth Hour is the symbolic mass-participation event in the world which brings attention to climate change and sustainability initiative. To show our continued support, the Hotel will turn off the lights in most of the back-of-the-house areas and dim the lights in Hotel lobby and Robatayaki for one hour. Meanwhile, The Promenade, Waterfront Bar & Terrace and Harbour Grill will dim the lights with candles on tables. To create unique, memorable experiences for Hotel guests during Earth Hour, guests are also invited to actively participate in this global conservation effort by switching off the lights in their rooms. Going beyond the global light-off event, The Promenade will offer guests a special dinner buffet featuring sustainable seafood on March 25, 2017 to demonstrate the hotel’s active commitment to the environment.

The day before (March 24, 2017), hotel’s staff will also support the initiative by turning off computers and non-essential lights throughout back-of-the-house during 1:00pm to 2:00pm, to create a greener and more sustainable environment.
